Teased around for months has been the unveiling of a new chogokin line of figures. The new line was formally announced today as Super Robot Chogokin. The figures will resemble Bandai’s popular of Soul of Chogokin line, but will be around 6 inches in height and feature PVC and ABS plastics alongside die-cast metal. This line-up holds a ton of promise and looks to remain in a decent price range. More details coming.

Andrew Bell has released a DIY version of his uber-popular O-No Sushi vinyl figure set. The set is just like the already released versions. It includes a figure with articulated arms, legs and replaceable eyes; second set of eyes; piece sushi; bowl of tentacles. Look for these to retail around $22 each.
ChumBuddy was originally 100% hand sewn and was made from fleece and felt. It’s actually filled with around 30 pounds of poly-fill, and thus far making shipping a bit of an issue. Unfortunately you can only get yourself a ChumBuddy to sleep with if you live in the continental United States. He only travels by ground due to his weight and size, but the shipping is free.
You can look for this jawsome piece of work to start shipping around the 4th quarter of this year and you can preorder it through Patch Together now for $199.95, which may sound like a high price, but remember it is hand made, 7 feet, made from fleece, and the shipping for that 30lb bad boy is already included with that price, so it really is not that overpriced after all.

Dutch artist Parra is back with a new figure. This time he presents the “The Not So Happy Bird” character. It comes in black and in white, has once again been produced by Toykyo and it will hopefully be released soon.

Bandai are releasing a series of transforming characters called Mojibakeru (a combination of moji, or “character”, and bakeru, or “to change into” in Japanese). As you can tell, they transform from the kanji to the creature each one represents. The first six are “Inu” (dog), “Sakana” (fish), “Ryu” (dragon), “Uma” (horse), “Tora” (tiger) and “Tori” (bird). Each comes in three colors.The series launches on May 17 in Japan for only 105 yen a piece.

Hot Toys has announced the first figure from the Clash of the Titans license – the 1/6th scale Perseus collectible figure. The highly detailed Perseus collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Sam Worthington in the movie, highlighting the newly sculpted head, muscular arms and legs, highly-detailed armors and weapons, as well as Medusa’s head as an accessory. This figure is set to release around fall 2010.
Kidrobot has just announced their next artist plush collaboration. This time it is the lovely UK duo TADO. Tako is a cute plushy cephalopod you just can’t get enough of it! Retailing for $19.95 and measuring in at a decent 10″, Tako will be released on May 6th, the same day as the TADO 8″ Dunny.
