Imagi has unveiled an eleven second teaser for their upcoming CG-animated “Gatchaman” movie, which they say will hit theaters in 2010. Check out the teaser by clicking on the link below.

Set in a future world grappling with environmental and technological issues, the story focuses on five reluctant heroes whose remarkable genetic code makes them Earth’s only hope of defeating extra-terrestrial invaders. Imagi promises that “Gatchaman” will be a big, effects-rich movie with some of the most ambitious action sequences ever seen in animation.

“Gatchaman” was created by Japan’s Tatsunoko Production in the early 1970s as a television series called “Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.” Aired in the US as “Battle of the Planets” and “G-Force,” it soon became one of the top syndicated shows.

Similar to what Sony Pictures did with “Spider-Man 4,” Marvel is now doing with “Iron Man 2,” by auctioning off a walk-on role in their movie on eBay.

The money will go to the “Stand Up To Cancer” charity, that is putting together the best and brightest minds in cancer research, investing in their projects and taking the bureaucratic obstacles out of their way.
